Cartier International Warranty

I bought a preowned 2021 Cartier Tank Must for my wife and it came with a warranty card that had a QR code on it. I scanned the code and it asked if I received this watch as a gift. I’m assuming the warranty was activated already and that I need not do anything else as the warranty should follow the watch. I’m going to have the battery replaced just so it’s at a 100%. I’m just wondering what anyone here that bought preowned has done.

I don't know about pre-owned, but I recently bought a new Cartier and the QR-initiated registration also asked if it was a gift. I wouldn't assume the extended warranty was already activated in your case.

I was going to wait til I went in to the boutique to ask but I just followed the prompts on the card to extend it for the full 8 years. So I am guessing people should guard those QR codes as I was able to (re)register it under my name.
