If your investment strategy is to knowingly overpay for a watch on the grey market just to get it faster you are not a very savvy investor.

Maybe buy the one you want and forget about it as an investment instrument.

DJ is a great watch, and the Wimbledon dial is particularly fancy
but... the Sub is the Sub, a legend!
It will never decrease its value

Neither are investment, but how could one even possibly consider a Wimbledon over a sub?? This was historically a watch that was the last to leave the case...

Simple - someone likes it better… the idea that the plain black sub is for everyone is the kind of utter nonsense the pervades this forum. Yes, it’s an icon. But no, it’s not for everyone. Some people want a little color or uniqueness in their watch.

Submariner 124060 or Wimbledon 126334?

Buy what you like because these are not investments. I still don't believe the hype of the last few years will continue and this world is going to hit another recession at some point and prices will drop, but Rolex has traditionally held most of its value and that's just a plus to the ownership value if you ever want to trade for another one.

The only investment pieces are vintage as they are rare and in small supply with great demand. Modern Rolexes are not rare and mass produced. Like any collectors market vintage is speculative.

DJ or Sub? Quality wise they are equal in build and both over-engineered for their very basic movements. Subs are more popular among enthusiasts while DJs are more popular among the public. Both are classics heralding back at least sixty or seventy years. Subs are considered sporty and DJs are considered dressy.

I'd personally have them both, so the only good question at the end of the day is which to buy first(?)

Flip a coin and GO!
