What are my model options for this look?

Came across this post on an instagram account a while back and really liked the look of the classic datejust with the leather band.

In particular, I like the slate color of the dial and how it plays with the band color. This is a reference 1603 (circa 1971), but I was wondering...what other references would help accomplish a similar look? I imagine there's been other references with a slate/grey dial that might work as well. As I try to find a piece, would be great to have a few references to search for to complete the look.

Thanks!

The current DJ41 can be had in dark grey. 31 can, too, but even for a true vintage-inspired look that’s a bit small.

Agreed - 31 too small. Was thinking 36. Thought there'd be a whole list of datejust / daydate references with grey/slate dials, but surprisingly doesn't seem to be the case.

Look for a 16014 SS Jubilee, it has the White Gold Fluted Bezel instead of the Machined Bezel.

For pre-2000 DDs, you can look for 1803(/9), 18039 and 18239. All offered gray/slate dials, but they’re not too common.

If you can do without the leather. Add a cyclops if you like. Closest to the engine turned bezel I know of in a modern watch. 38mm.

Look at bulang and sons website. They photograph various vintage watches with coloured straps
