ADs in Scotland

Does anyone have any experience with ADs in Scotland? I am thinking about building a long term relationship but unsure which one to start it with.

The town I am in does not have any ADs. The closest is the Edinburgh AD (Laings) or Glasgow AD (WOS).

There is also Hamilton and Inches in Edinburgh but that only sells Rolex and Patek so I dont think that one is a good option.

Any views will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I've been to both, pretty much most watch shops in those two cities.

I'd say go to Glasgow, the watch shops are much more plentiful and overall better shopping experience in general. There is also a Laings in Glasgow, it was in the Argyll Arcade which has many jewelery stores and pre owned watch shops however a standalone flagship was opening right on Buchanan St. One of their secondary locations also does pre owned.

In terms of purchasing I'd go WOS group as they run the entire strip on Buchanan St. Also when dealing with the Rolex Boutique you won't be pushed to purchase jewellery or other brands. Talking about other brands WOS owns pretty much all the standalone boutiques. Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Mappin and Webb and the newly opened Longines and Tudor boutiques. All of them are within walking distance along the same strip.

Under the WOS banner you can get your hands on just about every brand there and no matter where you shop it will help towards your purchase history

I hope that helped. If going to Laings ask for Heather, last fall I was there and they actually had a twotone DJ 41 fluted bezel champagne dial on a jubilee for sale when eveything was exibition only. This past spring everything was waitlist but I did get to try on the new Air King which I had not seen in person up until then.

If you go to the Rolex Boutique ask for David. Both are managers at their respective stores.

I have decent experience in both cities. One thing I’d say, if you’re nearest Edinburgh postcode wise, now they’ll push you towards that AD by way of “note of interest lists”.

Eg, as far as I know, Laings in Glasgow will direct you to the Edinburgh store if you’re not a West postcode, and vice Versa. With this in mind, I’d visit Laings and H&I in Edinburgh and try to build some rapport. Wos in Glasgow Is now a Rolex boutique and operate appointment only. I’d be surprised if you had much luck there without a lot of purchase history, or patience.

Good luck

I’ve dealt multiple times with Laings in Edinburgh, they have been very helpful.
I would recommend them.

If you live between several AD's I would suggest to pay each a visit and have a chat with the sales associates and request the watch you're after and see how things go from there. If any deliver then stick with them for future purchases!

In Scotland I would highly recommend the Rolex Boutique in Glasgow and Jamieson and Carry in Aberdeen, always have a great customer experience in both!

I got allocated a Daytona as my first watch from the Rolex Boutique in Glasgow; with only my Tudor as previous purchase history through WOS. Very helpful sales associates there!

Received the watch last year. Although, now a lot of the lists are closed to new clients and a lot are even closed for existing ones with WOS.
