Makes perfect sense. Buy what appeals to you. No sense in getting a date wheel, if the symmetry appeals to you. And no sense getting a different colored dial, if black appeals to you.

It did nothing to me back in 2020 when I tried it on at the AD. Super bland and not a fan of the double hour markers.

I love the watch - especially given your situation. Maybe consider a blue dial?

I am considering an OP for similar use and will likely end up with one as well - I've settled on 36 though. Not sure about dial color - all my dials are black so blue might be an option for me as well. What I am really hoping for is a new silver dial variation in the coming years - one that doesnt have gold hands. Not to knock on the current version which I think is incredible & unique - just not for me.

Explorer is a good suggestion if you can go 36 or potentially find the previous version slightly used.

The arguments about other brand watches - I've looked and keep coming back to the same place, Rolex.

The profile under your avatar picture says Brooklyn, not LA.

If you seriously want me to try and talk you out of it, I will. If you don't, then stop reading.

It's boring. It's ugly, it is no better than and is actually much worse than your current watch, the Submariner, which is the best watch you can have, period, end of story.

Take the $8K, 9K that this will cost you and instead use it for something worthwhile, like paying for an underprivilege youth's education. Or maybe helping out some displaced Ukrainians. Make a difference in the world instead of buying yet more unneeded baubles.

Too harsh? Well, sorry. But really, this is a ridiculous first-world problem, and you could do a lot better with your money.

My wife and I paid for a young lady to get her G.E.D., tuition, books, Lyft rides (she had no car) and although we no longer keep in touch with her, it's a nice feeling to know that we tried to improve her life. What she does with it is beyond our control.

My neighbor is hosting a Ukrainian woman who escaped the war.

Think about all of the people in Florida right now who could use some help.

I love the OP41 black dial. It never gets noticed and the only comment I’ve ever received was by my wife when I bought it.. she said it was boring. But this is my most worn watch without a doubt. Maybe I’m boring *♂️

Like you, I have a 124060. Would I go for a 41mm OP black dial? Absolutely! Sorry, I can’t talk you out of purchasing the OP41

Think I would do a different color dial as you have black covered with your Sub.

Well, your 4th paragraph onwards has certainly has taken this thread on a different route than I expected.

How do you know OP doesn’t already give significant time / money to good causes? I assume you own at least one luxury item. Could you not sell that and do further good?

Is owning ANY luxury item not at the expense of doing good in the world?

Nice watch for what you want. I might consider an Omega, like the Seamaster 300 as a an alternative

It is boring, but maybe that's exactly what you need for your described use case.

I think it's a nice choice. I would maybe choose a different dial colour since you have a sub already.
