Thanks, Gerardus. Some photos posted here are from those who owned the watch and have moved on. Seriously, as an engineer, working around fields in a manufacturing environment, this would likely be the last watch I'd part with. Even in retirement it will have meaning to me.

I’ve owned the z blue several times for its unique look and that amazing blue dial seen through the green glass. Problem is, I just can’t get this model to sit comfy on my wrist. I’ve tried all micro adjusts, easy in / out, all link configs etc. just wasn’t meant to be

Me too, exactly. Truly unfortunate as I think it is the most visually appealing Rolex. For me it was just too thick and top heavy, never sat comfortable as you said. The z-blue is one of a small handful of current Rolex watches where if they were to make just a tweak or two, it would be the perfect watch.

Did you tried with a glidelock clasp? I wore mine with one and the adjustment was not an issue; did sold it as found it to be too thick for my taste and the lack of a date

I was never attracted to the MG due the layout of the orange hand to be honest. My colleague bought the same reference as you own Lee,
about 1,5 year ago. It started growing on me each time I saw it on his wrist. I knew the wearability because of my 116900 AK ownership. (I even gave my first AK to my eldest son) and bought one back. At the end of the day It’s niche watch in the Rolex portfolio. Meaning not for everyone.

As Rolex bills it as their tribute to science, it no wonder it a niche watch as not too many follow that path. As a matter of fact there are those that deny the value.

Great to see the comments from current, former, and double former owners.

I had this watch and sold it for many of the same reasons cited here: heavy and couldn’t find a perfect fit. So I sold my Z blue and picked up a 116710 BLNR. I asked my buddy who I sold it to to bring it over one night so I could try it on again as I was missing the Z. Sure enough I fell back in love and am taking delivery of another Z blue tomorrow!

What I found interesting after wearing the BLNR for several months is that it too is heavy. It’s a nice heft, but certainly a little heavy. So I searched online for some weight comparisons, and sure enough the Z comes in at 150g vs 152g for the BLNR. Granted the GMT may come with 1 add’l link, but point is they are pretty much identical in weight. Yes, where you feel the weight may be different, but they’re pretty similar.

I too had some sizing challenges with the Z, playing with differently configurations and micro adjustments, and never quite got it to fit right. It always seem to slide high (i.e., case not centered) while on my wrist. But then I started thinking about where the GMT likes to sit on my wrist, and it too likes to sit high.

So I figured I would give the love affair with the Z another shot. I’ll try inserting a 1/2 link to see if that helps. We’ll see if I have a better experience the second time around!
