Tough choice, really like both. I choose black at the moment :)

I like the white one because it is so sporty. However, the contrarian in me likes the black one partly because I want to go against the herd. For the longest time I couldn’t decide. I asked for whichever one was available first.

I'd happily accept either one if given the opportunity. That said, I am not holding my breath.

First impression was that the Panda was the best, but slowly I've seen the black one on IG more and more and starts to look real close. With the $5k difference the black one seems like the winner for me atm.

I ultimately want both, but will acquire the Panda first.

The reasoning is, the other SS Rolexes I want (GMT/SUB/etc) all are black faced. The white Daytona would just be different.

Panda looks best in pictures, black dial looks the best in the flesh.

I mentioned to my AD I would prefer the black dial, but would happily take either one; I was very fortunate to get the black.

I would pick black every time and it comes with a "shorter" list.

Tough choice … But I think I would go white for the ceramic & black dial for the 116520 pre ceramic.

If Rolex only released the Black ceramic Daytona, would the Daytona reach the current iconic status. The special look of the white Daytona Panda had a lot to do with it. I love both, but prefer white, and the market price difference of $6000 plus reflects the white ceramic Panda desirability over black Thai Fighter

Yes. White dials on any Rolex don’t do it for me. However, to be honest, the white dial Daytona is at the top of my list. I still want one very much. Until then, I’ll keep enjoying my black dial Daytona!

White dial, black dial, seems there's no real consensus nor bad choice. The only error is calling the current white dial a "panda". Panda = full black subdials!!

I think the black looks way way better than the white, but I also feel that way about the explorer ii. In fact I can’t think of any Rolex in which I prefer the white dial variant so perhaps I’m overly biased.

They both look nice. From both if offered the choice would probably pick white.

I wonder if the attraction of the white ‘modified panda’ is its contrast and unique look compared to the previous version, while the black lost some of its contrast and bling relative to previous version. I liked the white at first for this reason, but practically speaking I find the black more versatile to wear. Ultimately, they’re both awesome and having either would be great.

I was all in on the black Daytona, for years! But suddenly the white has started to draw me in.

Now that I have the black one, the only solution is to get both. But now that I have one, I'm not in such a hurry anymore. Maybe I will get lucky and get a Daytona white at retail someday. (day dreaming)

I started collecting in 1990, and the black dial was by far the more preferred at that time.
And it seemed to stay that way until 2016 with the introduction of the ceramic bezel.
Seemed to have flip flopped at that time.
I still prefer the black, unless you include the solid gold Daytona's.
Then there are several options I prefer more.
