Icon20 Daytona Bezel Enamel

My early 90's Daytona (SS) has some of the black enamel worn off the steel bezel in the embossed numbers. I'm guessing over time from rubbing a shirt cuff, etc. What's the best route to restore?

A good indipendent watchmaker can restore the black inside the numbers but I think is a temporary solution and that eventually will wear off again

So no need to have an AD do the work? Sounds rather simple, but I'm sure an AD will charge 4Xs an independent.
