Great pic.

I’m absolutely smitten with RG myself. Would love for my AD to come through a RG Daytona on OF or full PM. Actually got a text today gauging my interest in a certain model.

Told him hell yeah but idk. I’ve been beat to the punch 2 times already this year when I said yes. Seems like someone is always ahead of me. Not sure what I can do other than say yes every time. I can only assume there’s some A D politics going on behind the scenes but I have faith in my guy. It will happen eventually and at least I’m getting texts

Sorry to hijack your thread but I literally just got the text. So I’m venting lol

I get it my man. I was able to get the Panerai at the boutique (after Pam corporate said there were none) but the Rootbeer was BNIB gray.

How do they feel compared heft wise? Any idea what the heads would weigh?

What are your initial impressions of the Panerai? The release photos looked sharp!

No idea on weight, but the Rootbeer is, of course, much more hefty due to the bracelet. Both watches have presence but are very comfortable.

Wrote this in Panerai thread...

PAM01111

I know this ref was skewered for the "in-house" debacle and limited water resistantance, but all that is immaterial in the metal.

A few thoughts... this is a dress watch, plain and simple. I can see why they went with the slimmer ETA now, the full in-house movements are considerably chunkier. This wears much thinner and more elegant.

The watch is surprising subtle, the rose gold is much more mellow than the pictures would suggest. The blue dial is also darker and doesn't shout. The decision to put the chrono pushers opposite the crown card gives a nice balance. I'd say, incongruously, it wears smaller than a normal Luminor case. Love it!

I have seen this watch today “on the internet” and think it is absolutely stunning. I’m with you on water resistance and ETA. I can accept all that. Haven’t seen it in the flesh and would have never considered gold but for a dress watch I’d take this and happily pay double what I would for a SkyD. Again another thing will be deprecation but I can accept that. That’s the ultimate dress watch for me. My first expensive watch was a Panerai about 20 years ago. Sold after about a year or two. This has really turned my back onto the brand. Would be interested to hear if you still have this and still in love. Cheers mate. Oh and I would be between this and the 1020. I’ve literally been researching an hour and see one is 1000 pieces and the other 500. Only one in US and the 1020 more available in EU. Yours is the business but the 1020 also beautiful.

I still have this but might move it along. Been switching rose gold for yellow and some steel.
