unlikely....ofcourse depends on where you live, Here NL there are lots of enthusiasts with lots of money so even know the market seems to be getting better availability will always be a problem. Back when I started in 2004, there were only a few of us who were really collecting and I could get anything I wanted within a week. Those days are long gone and won't be returning. Luckily there are other great ways to spend your hard earned money.

Dependent on your spend history and location.

I go one last year about 1 month after my BLRO.

Some questions must not be asked

I normally look at the poster's signature. If they have a large collection of hot pieces they've likely spent at least 100k on watches - more likely 200k if you count PM pieces as more costly and also some turnover within the collection.

But.... "back in the day" none of that mattered. Anyone could walk in and get a non-Daytona model with at least 10% discount. These days the relation$hip matters.

With GMT prices dropping on the secondary market, continuing to wait for my AD is less appealing. Toss in a bit of CA sales tax and a sprinkle of impatience (after waiting for a year+), and it might be time to pull the trigger!

Spot on, although with my current AD my relationship only started in early 2019.

That's awesome. I wasn't being nosy, I'm amazed that you got a BLNR a month after the BLRO! You must have struck up a great relationship

No problem at all! I'm not just interested in Rolex and have purchased other brands. Spend of course helps build the relationship, but they also know that I'm not a flipper and a genuine watch enthusiast.

I went to an AD last weekend where I didn't have any purchase history. Was wearing one expensive watch and had a great chat for 1 hour. Got into the oyster Batman list, she mentioned delivery probably in 1 year

I got a BLNR in January and a BLRO in April. My only spend history prior was a TT DJ41 for my wife's 36th Birthday and a set of gold hoops in 21.

No, they can't. Not without building the relationship anyway. I live in a flyover state, and was able to purchase mine with no history, but i waited over 2 years to get it. I went in regularly to see what else they had, catch up, etc.

In those conversations, i learned that they get calls multiple times each day from people across the country thinking that because it's flyover, people won't be as interested. It's the same everywhere....nowhere us unique right now. You either have no chance, have a chance, but have to wait years, or get extraordinarily lucky (i've heard of some ADs just putting them out for first come first serve).

I received 5 gmts this year for myself and family. If you are not severely in with your AD it will not happen. Too many people like me with close ties who buy for friends and family.

It seems unfair but these are easy sales where the AD trusts a flipping will not occur.

You’re greedy with GMTs

Lol, selling 5 of the same watch to the same person to prevent flipping?

I was just at Fashion Island. That’s in Newport Beach California. They said availability is bad right now. They do believe availability will improve going into next year. They have been encouraged to sell to local individuals. It’s now frowned upon to sell to visitors. He said this is a worldwide trend. They said it’s gotten tiresome to just call people up and give them 2 hours to decide on a watch or not.
