Watchtime NYC. Fun times

Went to the Friday night event at watchtime new york last night. Beautiful evening, 30 great brands and incredible high end horologie. Nice to see Kari Voutilainen there though he only brought 2 watches for display and now taking orders for delivery in 2027! Tried on the ALS titanium Odysseus.. Truly Sublime!

Thank you thank you for posting pics! SOOO wish I could have attended. And that MB&F / Kari LM101 Willy Wonka looks spectacular. Your thoughts are welcome as have not seen one in person.

Some more Beauties. It would be nice next October to meet up with some of you all on the Friday night vip event. So much less crowded, good drinks and food. Nice to meet the watchmakers in person and discuss the new releases.

OMG.. I just left Phili on Friday to come back to SF. I could have gone with you and delayed my flight. I actually have a friend and colleague from CA who is there . He just sent me an email this AM. I really did not realize this was happening this weekend.

Well, at least Kari is still taking orders. Apparently they are up to 70 watches / year, that's like a 10% increase in production

Honestly though, it's so amazing that as badass and successful as Kari is, he still works his own booth at the show all by himself. Max from MB&F, Vincent from Ferdinand Berthoud, they all came with a crew, Kari showed up by himself with 2 watches and I saw him go from a panel right back to his booth as fast as fans would let him. There were a lot of amazing watches and brands at the show but Kari is the person I'm most excited to buy a watch from... even if that center seconds is a little bit of a thickkk boy...

I think the PMs are still okay. But I heard from my AD and another AD that the steel one is not taking orders anymore. This was from June when I spoke to them, not sure if anything had changed since then.

Yeah, steel LM101 2021 are probably gone. Am waiting for the WG Willy Wonka for March '23 delivery.

Have known Kari online for decades. Always a gentleman and it's GREAT seeing him succeed, he's earned it! Heard Czapek has taken many orders.....

Man, if there was a timepiece show to attend this season, this weekend's event has the most interest for me. Great to see everyone is having fun, orders being placed, etc. Guess I should email Kari about a custom 28sport asap.

What is in your Voutilainen collection? I have decided to get a KV for over a year but did not firm up an ordered until January. Originally told that it would be a 2024 delivery but once the order was submitted to Kari, I was told the wait have extended and it can be a 2025 delivery. Also passes on a chance to order a very special piece and is kicking myself in the behind every time I think about it.

Is your Willy Wonker on time? Hope there is no delay. The LM series is something to be handled to be able to funny appreciate, I am glad I jumped onboard.

The LM101 will be the first Kari / Moser / MB&F piece. This is one of the great things with MB & FRIENDS timepieces, you get to enjoy and support a variety of great horologists.

In the 'old days' online, Timezone had guys like Kari and many others. We were a 'smaller community' waaaay back when. Frankly, should have procured a Kari before now, but life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.

Have no idea if it is on time, was quoted in Nov 2021 of a March 2023 delivery date. It arrives when it arrives via WoS / Mayors. If this was 1998 or 2009 or... yet demand of today means more patience until 'tomorrow'.

Until then, enjoy your time

Do it! I've ordered a custom 28sport. He had one at the show in a niobium case, a little darker and heavier than titanium, when I asked if it was available to order he kinda hesitated and didn't really answer me so but I think I will see if he's open to it maybe sometime in 2024 when I finalize my build :P

Yea as I posted before, when I was strongly thinking about ordering, was a 18-24 month wait. By the time I was ready to put a deposit it was 5 years. I don't have the capital to tie up 25k for 5 years, maybe one day. 28sport with his traditional lugs

Agree completely. I'm on a 3 yr wait for a Grönefeld Principia.. So difficult to wait.
