In reply to the original question, I've been thinking long and hard about this. At the moment I think I'd go for a red sub or a double red SD. I'm torn between the two. Ask me in a few years time and my choice could be completely different. Rest assured it will never be a Blue TT Sub.

Thanks, I felt that ppl like to put others in catagories before knowing them. People on the other board where I am known as Speedstate like to assume too much. For example ppl assumed that I was sitting around waiting for my parents to buy me watches after I made a comment that I was touched that such an offer was made to me recently which I declined. To me it was a very touching gesture from a parent, but the majority of the group there chose to make assumptions and jump all over me..... I am pretty sure you read that post before Dman. I have been lurking here for a while and can clearly see it is different here, when ppl post a touching moment with a little humour ppl understant that. Also I notice that there is no judgement based on watches owned. Over on that other board it is disgusting how ppl cant view watches objectively, but instead only favour what they own. I love when the Omega owners judge Rolex owners in general, Can't we own and love both? I know I can and do. Anyways thanks for all the warm welcomes, I think I will like it here and hopefully I will be able to contribute. |

Roger, I had lots of dumb questions when I started and you know what?? I still have lots of dumb questions!!! But, I as everyone here like watches and have for many years. Although I don't have the kinda of $$ some of the others have I have the want to have IMO a prestiougious watch. I've wore my 5513 while working in the yard, on the Jeep, swiming, do most everything with it but, when I notice I'm getting close to or have already bumped it I'll take it off and put it in my pocket so nothing major happens to it. love what you wear and wear what you love!

Roger I do remember that post and thought is was total BS how you got flamed over that. That forum is great for knowledge and info but like many other wannabe serious forums they think they are too great.
We are not and will not be like that at all here. We are here as much or more for the banter and friends as we are the watches. We recognize that there are many good watches out there that aren't named Rolex, even though I don't own any, LOL!! I know you well from TZ as I lurk over there daily but post very little(for me and the way I post). I think that you have a great love of watches and are lucky to have a family (or at least your Mom) that shares your passion. I really hope you can stop by daily and contribute your ideas or even just post a new pic or two, we would love to see you a bunch!! By the way, I am Filipino-Hawaiian so I thought the asian part of your joke in that one thread was HILARIOUS!! I guess you have to be of some Asian heritage or have the slightest sense of humor to be able to laugh someplaces. Stick around mate we are just starting to have fun here!! |

Thanks, us Asians are a funny breed eh? But I know that there are many other cultures that value family as well, I guess just some ppl on that other board are too busy buying expensive things to spend some time with the ones that gave them life.... |

If i could have a Rolex period I would have to go for the black on black sub with SS bracelet. I like the sporty look and the fact you can also wear it with dressier clothes.

Wow, a thread with JJ Irani! Miss that guy. If I could only have one it would be my 126619 sub as it passes for SS, love the color blue and does not look too clingy. Love the DD but not an everyday watch for my lifestyle. Love my Platinum Daytona but the baguettes is not something I would wear everyday.
