Use a compass or if you have an iphone there are several apps thet will test for magnetism.

Dont forget that the natural Earth magnetism is around 50 which is fine.

Do you have an induction hob in your kitchen ?
they are well known for "messing up" a watch movement.

Thanks, I don’t have an induction hob. I checked for magnetism using the Lepsi app on my iPad. Shows the watch is not magnetised.

I found a local watchmaker who very kindly offered to check it for me on a timegrapher while I waited, he found it was running minus 12 seconds and adjusted it to between 0 to +3 for me.
