New day wheel for Day-Date

I came across an 18238 that I am interested in but the day wheel is in a foreign language. How expensive is it to change the day wheel during service?

You might want to leave it just as it is and learn the day names. Kind of neat to do that, I think. Plus, you leave the watch as it was from the factory.

I would want to change it.

Youll have to pay for a fulll service around £700, RSC will probably replace quite a few things on an older watch, you’ll have to consider a potential dial replacement, new crystal is almost always required in my experience. I’ve never changed the day date wheel buy I would guess that part alone would be somewhere between 2-300 pounds.

Then you have the optional recommendations, such as bracelet replacement which is quite common on these day dates, which you can decline, but it does show on your completed service papers, all the things you have declined which really bugs me.

My estimates are educated guesses based on my own experiences, I’m sure someone such as “tools” here will be able to tell you exactly.

Since it is a 3155 instead of a 3055 movement you don’t have to be as worried about the day completely changing at midnight after replacing the wheel.
Price depends on who you get to do it, preferably a qualified watch maker.

Current US price for service of a DD is $750
If not mistaken. Think a new day wheel should be less than $200 as most new dials are $400 (exchange process, you don’t get to keep the old part)

If English is your usual language why wouldn’t you change it to English?
