Pelgaos 39 randomly broke

Hello all.

I’ma proud owner of a Pelagos 39mm. I was fortunate enough to snag one of these the day that they launched. I haven’t worn the watch for a couple of weeks and just found out that the watch wont start. This happens despite how much I want it.

I’m always extremely careful with it and make sure the crown is screwed down. There is no sign of water damage or anything like that. Curious if anyone else has heard of this happening? Thanks

Could be a lemon. Looks like it’s going to be a warranty job

Sounds like a mechanical failure to me. Lot's of reasons this could happen. Any thoughts are just speculation until a proper inspection is carried out to determine the cause. Under warranty, Best to send it in IMO.

I’ve heard of Tudor products effectively being DOA / dead on arrival, but never experienced it myself. Warranty will cover it, but I get your frustration because it’s still a huge hassle to deal with.

Winding it.

He might not be winding it. He Wrote:

He just "wants" it to run!

Maybe this is the post that gets my mind off of the P39!

Seriously though, sorry to hear about the headache and hope it gets resolved much faster than your Rolex.

Sorry to hear about the double whammy there - a random mechanical failure on the Tudor, and (very likely sounding) the well-documented 32xx amplitude/slowing issue on you BLRO at the same.

Hope they both get sorted ASAP.

I tried one on the other day and it’s an awesome lightweight piece. My only concern was that because it looks so much like a sub from afar, that might draw the wrong kind of attention, since I was thinking it’d be a cool watch to travel internationally with. Am considering a Seamaster 300 heritage instead.

Tudor ADs are seeing a big influx in stock recently. Pelagos39 needs to be tried on in the metal, I think. There’s a subtle sunburst, it actually wears bigger than a Sub IMO, and the weight may be either a pro or con

There are so many watches that look like a sub… thieves can pick out an actual sub from a 100 paces. I agree that it would be a great travel watch.

I have tried one on and loved it. I understand your desire to fly more under the radar and I actually do not think it is easily confused with the Sub. The Seamaster is a different beast altogether and a wonderful one at that. I had a titanium 300 years ago and missed the light weight for sport usage. That is mainly why I am interested in the P39.
