Looking for expert advice on my wristband , or strap, Watch head near mint with original sticker, and the strap in similar condition, but did Rolex ever make the links "solid" ie the large piece in each link being joined to the 2 smaller pieces. Mine have no visible join, between the 3 pieces that make up each link. Some collectors say the strap, must have been a worn out one, refurbished to look perfect by gold soldering the 3 pieces of each link, but there is no wear at all which shows the strap had had any real use...thanks...

Wow..thats amazing, beautiful watch - a mint, nipple dial 1680 and gold too. I am afraid I cannot help with the bracelet, I am sure someone else can do that, just wanted to say hi and welcome to TRF..

Congrats on the 16808! The gold bracelets on Subs always had SEL (Solid End Links).

Thanks Scott "SLS", on my strap (which was fitted to watch when found)EVERY link is solid..ie the 3 parts in each link have no visible join.On stainless steel straps you can always see the join. Do you think that how it came.. my problem local "experts" insist it cannot be right and there should be a visible join as on stainless steel ones......Ive never seen to gold sub strap myself to compare ...very many thanks Michael

I suggest you post on vintagerolexforum (if you are not already a member, you will have to join to post). There are people there that know just about everything about vintage Rolexes. I am sure you will get a quick response.

Thanks ive tried that, was asked for better photos, because my first lot were poor, I put same photos as on here but no replies, thanks for you advice though. Ive searched through lots of photos, and lot seem to be solid links like mine is, other are showing gaps like stainless ones, but they could be later type straps I suppose. There is so very little wear on mine ,I think its right myself, but when so called local "experts" condemned the strap, I felt I needed more advise.
