No way, no how. Rolex has the Air King and Tudor the Ranger, obviating any need for a 39mm Explorer.

I would LOVE a return to the 39. Sure there are other models that size, but it seems that’s a sweet spot for folks. Plenty of DJ 36, Cellini, OP 36 out there. Or, they could just release two different sizes and keep the Exp 36, too.

That watch- 39mm Explorer- is now called Air-King. Love it or hate it, I actually think it’s true and intentional on the part of Rolex.

Agreed 100%. OK so the 39mm wasn't the historic size, but the proportions of the 39mm were absolutely fine IMO. I would still love to pick up a NOS 214270.

Maybe, I would like to see it with the 41mm case.

Would be good. It’s a much more wearable size for me and having both available is a great idea.

White gold and I’m in! That would be sweet.

Those watches are at the extreme ends of my love-hate Rolex spectrum...so I kinda disagree.

It’s funny - I just want looking into the explorer vs OP online. The 36 is not an option for me, looks so small. If they did bring back the 39, that would be interesting.

To answer your question: no. Will it come back ever? Hard to tell.

I tried on the 36mm and no way would I get it. It’s far too small and I only have a 7.25” wrist. That bracelet tapers to dental floss width.

I think the proper size should be right between 36 (too small) and 39 (too big) for the Explorer. So I vote for 37.5mm too as the ideal size.

They should absolutely bring a 39-40mm version of the Explorer back. Even before the current market craze, I don’t think they had any problems selling the 214270 Mk II version.

I hope not for selfish reasons...I want mine to continue to go up in value.
It's unique and many agree it is the perfect watch - me included.

Thank you for listening and have a good day
