BB stands for Big Bullsh--ters. "Rolex won't allow us to discount!"

Whatever. Bye Bye BB.

The only 2 ad's I go to for my needs so far have treated me very well. I always leave with a good feeling. One's in Hong Kong, the other in my Town Vancouver. Very Professional the both of em

Most dealers won't discuss discounts over the phone as they have no idea who they are talking to. Best bet is to go and work out a price then hit them with the cash thing. Cash only saves the dealer about 2% over visa mc. 4% on Amex roughly speaking. All dealers do something on the price some do more than others. Generally stay away from malls and big chains as they have corporate to answer to and rules they must follow. You should be able to get the discounts I mentioned earlier from most dealers.

In my case, yes. Their policy will cost them any future business they may have had with me.

I was in one a few weeks ago. I can get 5% discount easily, but it's difficult to get anything more. I even told the salesguy how I felt and he completely agreed that the company policy isn't inline with the market.

My AD is excellent. The staff know me and greet me with a friendly smile. They call me by name. They never try to "push" anything on me.

Mixed bag, it was an AD in Asia that I visited. Great selection, but hurried salespeople.

A colleague recommended a great AD in Brea, CA. I was greeted but not pressured. Every question was answered politely. 30 minutes later I went away happy with a slightly heavier left wrist undoubtedly caused by the stainless Sub that I didn't have before. No discounts possible there but peace of mind for sure.

We have 2 AD here in town, one of them treats me as vermin everytime I´ve enterd. The other treats me real nice.

I tend to dress "down" when I´m out of office, guess they have a certain profile you have to fit to be treated nice at that first AD :)

I guess my real beef is the attitude that developed after I asked.

Even tho I go in so infrequently (once ever 6 - 8 mos) The manager always greets me by name, smiles and is eager to pull out interesting pieces to share with me. Seem to be knowledgeable, but I don't ask leading questions to trip them up.

Hi Eddie,

I don't think the poll allows you to choose more than one option, but you can certainly explain in a post what happened during your last AD visit. I would be interested in hearing about it. Faith

I was in my AD yesterday leaving jewellery to be valued. I was peering at their TV monitor because I wanted to compare the quality of theirs with my own new TV of the same brand, and there happened to be a Rolex DVD playing. The saleswoman said this to me: 'lovely watches aren't they, they're by a company called Rolex, considered to be one of the best-known brands'. I was a little taken back, given that I was wearing a brand new one at the time. Maybe I just look like a hick, but she was so patronizing it was hilarious.

The same lady then took a phone call from a customer and asked another salesperson 'what's an Aquaterra?'. I took pleasure in shouting 'it's an Omega!' I think the irony was lost on them.
