Datejust Motif dial color visibility

For those of you who have the Datejust 36 or 41 with a motif dial, how do you find the visibility between the blue motif and the green motif. It seems in pictures which are hard to tell versus in the flesh which one actually pops. Sometimes in pictures the blue motif looks dark and the green looks muted. Any real world input would be appreciated.

I have the blue motif and lighting definitely changes the look, but overall I think the legibility is pretty decent.

I have the blue motif 36. Legibility is great. The dial really changes with the light and there is a subtle sunburst effect. Some angles it even looks like a shiny glossy candy shell. I highly recommend it if you are considering it. I am considering a two tone with the gold motif but not sure how legible that would be with the gold hands.

Had the blue. Only kept it a month. Beautiful dial, visibility was alright. Slightly difficult to read, because the motif doesn't create a very high contrast. In bright light it's fine though.

Tony (Justrolexes) has that two tone with the gold motif over on his site

That’s what kind of worried me. I had that exact configuration on a regular blue dial which after awhile did nothing for me. It needed a little contrast. I’m leaning towards the 41 green motif on jubilee with flat bezel. It appears to pick up light better without needing it, if that makes sense.

I liked the watch. Then my ice blue motif platinum DD40 showed up and it just felt kind of like a toy. I've also had 5 DJ41s and I always end up getting rid of them. I really prefer the DJII.

Have a DJ41 with the blue motif dial and fluted bezel. It is a very variable dial where in normal settings its a very subtle dark blue but whenever light hits it, you get a wide array of different blues and outlines of the motif add another dimension.

It's a very hard dial to photograph to capture, its truly way better to see in person. But regardless, I don't find any issues with legibility in any condition.

Good to know. Photos just don’t tell the whole story.
