Exhibition watches are just watches waiting to be picked up by owners or ADs keep them a few weeks before selling it to the lucky one they pick.

I really dont think Rolex has the time to manufacture "non running display models" .ADs may tell that to clients ,not to annoy them ,because the watch is available ,but they have the buyer in mind already .

Not in the States. At least not at my AD in California. They are not sold watches waiting for pickup. I am positive of that. Where you live may be different.

I am also positive at least at one point about a year ago, something was done to them so they wouldn’t start running when handled or wound. I am also positive of this because my AD showed me.

Again, may be different at your AD or in your part of the world.

Well iv had the same issue my submariner.. noticed the gritty sound soon as i wind it. So kept an eye on time noticed i was running 5 to 9 secs fast.

So eventually took to ad and they sent it off got it. The person couldnt explain exactly what was done instead some waffle this and got changed blah blah. So i asked what got changed.. so didnt bother asking again as it seemed she couldnt explain.

Fast forward few weeks but its seems to be the same still running 5 to 9 seconds faster. Has anyone else had this issue and what do you all suggest i do..

Its not running at +2 -2

The gritty feeling was one of the first things I noticed about my SD43 when I got it in 2017. All my other 32xx movements feel about the same.

My 3230 feels gritty when fully wound. Runs +/- 0 a day 🤷*♂️

It’s easy to get caught up on these details, but if it’s running fine then I’d ignore it.

Looking at previous posts, also seems likely the exhibition models in your region might might not contain a working movement.

Why would you wind a Rolex more than 10-15 times? I don't get it. I put on a dead watch and wear it for a few hours to get it running, then set the time and give it a few winds just for fun.

What am I missing here?
