Fake or Real???
Hello to you all....I have a question regarding an authentic(or not?) rolex!!
Does a copy(fake) usually come with papers?? You see I just purchased(online) a 14060M Sub and I'm a 3 hour drive to the nearest AD...Dying to know now if its real or not!! It has papers with numbers matching(as I removed bracelet) boxes and original purchase reciept from Bucherer in Geneva....Everything looks good but not 100% sure....The divers extension though seems loose and wont seem to lock back in to the unextended position!! Other than that ,all seems good...Etching on Crystal is there,Triplock crown looks identical to my GMT IIc TT,winds great, sounds as it should...It is an F serial...I would take pics but my camera skills are horrible and cant get a clear enough shot to show!! Any thoughts people??? Oh,and the papers look good plus the case serial numbers and model number look sharp and almost machine stamped and not poorly etched..! |

Hopefully fakes don't come with papers... but they can! (real papers with fake watch and fake S/N)
How looks your S/N between the lugs (in comparaison with your GMT IIc if you have one)? Btw for me Sub looks OK for me. |

Hi again......Thanx for the input!! I will be tacking it to the AD this weekend to be sure but I feel better and almost sure it is after all real......
Aston: As far as my GMT,I have never tried to remove the bracelet from that(a little harder to remove it).The S/N between the lugs on the sub look good(Sharp and almost machine stamped looking!).....Again thanx for the replies....I will provide a view of my full collection soon on another thread and post, plus update after the AD visit with the Sub..! |

sleddog1000,
I also own a GMT IIC. I took a picture of the numbers between the lugs, here how they are if you want to compare: For the laser etched crown (not my picture here): Hope this help |

Thanks Aston!! They compare very well!! Except the model though of course.....Also under a loupe the etching looks exact as well,so maybe(fingers crossed,I have the real deal!) Normally I only purchase from an AD but the price was right ($2500 CAD) and its a model that I always loved....Its going to become my daily wearer as my GMT and Navitimer are for the special and rare outings...
Here is a little look at my collection.... |

Hey sleddog1000, nice collection there!
If the etching looks fine, you can be 99,99% sure that your watch is OK .It is extremely difficult to reproduce it. But I know your fears about buying a "pre-owned" watch. I'm currently exactly in the same case and it is normal to check twice. If you can go to an AD, then you will be definitely sure about it, and you can then wear it in good health ;-) |

Great news!!!! Went to the AD on the weekend, and all checked out 100%!!! Its in great shape, had it polished(just the case),and no need to service for at least another 2 years.......So happy and got it at a great price!!
Now onto my next find.....So hard not to buy anything at the dealers.. S#$T, I'm hooked.! |
