Ss Daytona to of Daytona

Would you sell a ss white dial Daytona to get a of Daytona from an ad , might need to add a few $$?

Or keep the ss since that is more sought after and better for a collection?

More sought after by who? Yourself or other people?

Why keep the watch if you don't like it but other people do? For financial gain?

Lots of questions here to ask yourself and find true meaning.

You'd need to add more than a few dollars to get an OF Daytona.

I've owned both the white SS Daytona and the white gold OF Daytona, and there's no comparison, IMHO. The true panda dial of the OF version, plus the additional weight and luster of the white gold, makes for a much nicer watch. I'd definitely do it.

However, as stated above, it's subjective, and you need to be the one to decide which watch you prefer.

Whatever you like better, but to my eyes the SS is superior and not even close. To answer your question, it is also much more in demand if that matters to you.

Gold > steel.

My 116520 feels like a toy in comparison to these two:

I’m just not a PM guy. I wear my SS Daytona freely for anything, the PM would probably stay in the drawer most of the time. Get OF for your SS if it’s that look you’re after.

I also own both a 116500 white dial and the 116519. I initially wanted the 500 so much more than the 519, but my AD offered the 519 first and of course I jumped on it. When I finally got the SS white dial two years later I was surprised to find that it was kind of a let-down to wear after the 519. I still enjoy it but the 519 is definitely in a different league. The only advantage the 500 has over a 519 is the full bracelet. But this is an ever so slight advantage. I like OF straps but I don’t love them. But everything else about the 519 wins. It definitely feels more special.

SS feels like how it original did as tool watch, PM is just the heavy jewelry version of it.

Let me guess, when you hang out with your friends you also remark how a bottle of Cola used to cost a nickel?
