Mostly rubber and rarely leather. I wear the bracelet as well which gives it a totally different look. It is unfortunate that you cannot choose the color of rubber when you pick up your time piece. I usually wear white rubber with my blue 7900 and often wear a red rubber strap with the 4500.

I have some images on Instagram if you want to take a look. Happy Friday to all!

Did you ask your SA if you could? I was lamenting how I already had a blue rubber strap when purchasing my 6000V, they offered to let me swap the blue rubber for a different color.

About 60% bracelet and 40% rubber. Never on the leather. I have other dressier pieces to wear on leather. Love the Overseas. So versatile!

Good question! I did not think about it at that time but later realized that I prefer a less monochromatic look. Enjoy your 6000V : )

Interestingly, looking at the prices on their website, it looks that the Overseas remains at a stable price (at least the 4500V) from what I remember a year and half ago, even though the other big brands continue to raise their prices multiple times. Is that true? If so, then how/why??
LOL, Ive become accustomed to expect otherwise due to AP, PP, Rolex.I’m flabbergasted!

Yup, the models I follow (Overseas DT, CdV) seem to still be at the same price. Maybe they see secondary prices dropping so they aren't doing anything yet, but it's still early in the year

Regarding the 4500V, does anyone know if it’s now possible to purchase a blue dial version from boutique (without previous boutique history), or is it still impossible like during Covid?

Also, can these be obtained from an AD, or only a dedicated VC boutique?
Thanks.

Boutique only. Only your contact there can tell you for sure.

I don't know if much has changed just because secondary prices dropped.

Not much has changed with the Overseas. Demand is still high especially with the blue dial. Blue dials can only be purchased through the boutique.

Prices are falling in the secondary market - I've seen one that's going for current retail (bought in 2018 and has a few scratches)

Doesn't mean the 5 coming to your boutique this year don't already have buyers though. That is the issue with these vs a submariner.

This is very true - guess people still want to buy direct from the boutique to build their relationship.

I'm guessing the London one gets 6 - 12 a year...

Prices have fallen in the secondary market but demand is still there from the AD and Boutiques. Trust me when I say you will not be able to walk in and purchase one without a relationship with your SAs.

Blue dial boutique only.

I got on the waitlist in 2021 and received it in 2022. About a year wait with no prior purchase. Just a data point for reference.

Which location and did you have a purchase history (if you don't mind disclosing of course)? Thank you!

Has anyone gotten an allocation for the new panda? Allocation meaning sent a deposit. I am curious what secondary prices will be for this.

Spoke with a boutique late last year (F2F), no history. When I mentioned I realized the wait time was 4-5 years (per the online boutique person), the manager said that it shouldn't be that long, probably a year or two shorter.

These are some amazing watches, thank you for sharing!

I have never had a chance to see an Overseas in the metal but I am very interested in that model.

How does it compare to a Rolex Daytona or BLNR jubilee? These are two watches I own that hopefully can help me mentally compare.

Thanks!

I have them all. It’s just a different feel all together.

The VC is special - the interchangeable straps make the piece very versatile and really change up the feel.
After awhile even though they are great - a Rolex is just another Rolex.

They are all more or less the same watch is my issue with them. I have LV, Daytona, and BLRO and can't imagine buying another one again because it would be redundant.

.... and none of them have this:

I've considered it. Would perhaps sub out the GMT for the DD40. The case and on wrist feel is similar to the Daytona though. Curved case. Curved lugs. Weight etc.
