I want a 5513 but.........
I want to consider a 5513 because of its vintage status but, I plan on wearing it a lot. So, did the later model 5513s come with sapphire crystals? If so, what year 5513 do I need to look for to get sapphire?
And, what movement is in the newer 5513s? ![]() |

What you want is a 14060...............
![]() In ~1989 they changed the basic 5513 from the 1520 movement to the 3000 and fitted a sapphire crystal, changing the reference to 14060.

There is an excellent comparison of the 5513 and 14060M here http://www.oysterworld.de/5513vs14060.htm
Or....if you cannot make your mind up you will have to get both like I did.... ![]() |

i prefer the 5512/5513 to the 14060 even though it is a great watch. The high dome does it for me anyway.

Looking at the case back ( http://www.oysterworld.de/5513vs14060.htm) the 5513 looks more comfortable i.e. it's flatter; will sit more comfortable without rocking....
