Was in Eisman’s over the weekend, and it was an s* show. So many people in there “connecting” with their AD’s like they were best friends, it was disgusting. I’ve made a couple of “relationships” there, but never formally asked for anything, but this time I did. I felt sleazy about the whole thing, so I went home and went gray! My SA basically said that the manager approves all purchases. Not worth it, impossible to compete with the money flowing through there.

Btw, Steve Sixta is kinda cool at Bachendorf’s. He’s been there forever and little crusty. I’ve never pressed him for anything, but seems to be someone you could work with.

This thread delivers.

PS. To everyone still trying to spend money on things they don’t want so they can “save money” on the things they want, get a grip.

I live in the DFW area. I bought my first Rolex from Haltom's in Ft Worth last year. It is a Datejust ss. I tried to get a Sub or GMT this year and the SA said OP and DJ are possible. I contacted a grey mkt dealer and found a Submariner Date in mint condition. It arrived today. PM if you want the dealer name.

I have never understood why someone would buy something they don't want to get an allocation that seems stupid, but at the same time if you are going to spend the money anyway why not have it help you get something you want.

Eiseman has all the hot pieces allocated for customers that purchase other items. They offered a Daytona that I requested in less than a week after becoming a customer.

I'd call ahead and ask for a time you could come try on one. If they say they don't have any exhibition models, well I guess there is your answer. Just ring the ones in the area. Dallas, Southlake, Fort Worth. I like Eiseman, just to give a counterpoint to earlier views. I do not have bad experiences at all from there.

This post in general just reminds me how things have changed. I never bought any Rolex in Dallas but visited watch stores there all the time over the years. Like many others I believe it was around 2017 when things starting changing, when you needed to “earn” buying a Rolex. Who knows if and when you will ever be able to just walk in and buy one with no strings attached.
It’s the same in Houston, deBoulle are the worst in this city. They ask to buy jewelry before you can get a watch. Look elsewhere than this store. I walk in, immediately they said there is no watches for sale. I was there for 20 seconds before that comment. No customer service. The Houston store is managed by the son of the Dallas store. Guess their shady methods runs in the family.

Dallas is even worse now than ever, because all the loud/new money moving in from Cali. Old school Dallas had more money than you ever dreamed of and didn’t have to tell you about it.

New Dallas is very different….. thus I expect a RM store any day lol

I deal with M&B Watches out of Dallas or DFW Watches.
Most ADs will pass over small guys for their whale clients.
Brett & Mickey from M&B have taken me to dinner several times.
Matt from DFW and I have gone shooting several times, he always brings the coolest toys and lets me play with them.

Dallas is a hard city man, you have to buy some stuff like jewelry and low tier watches to get your name up the "list". I'm in Houston and I've had no luck without a purchase history either.

I have visited multiple AD’s in Dallas hoping to purchase a sub at a later date but have not had any luck. On some occasions I have spent up to an hour talking with salespersons and recording my interest. I understand that demand is higher than supply and that is unlikely to change but I am becoming frustrated with not getting anywhere. I guess I could go ahead and play the game by buying a Tudor or Cartier to “build a relationship” but I’m worried I’ll still be left hanging. I’m sure I’m not alone in this.

If anyone recommends an AD that they trust and believe a relationship could be built with in Dallas, please comment or dm me.

Thank you!
Did you buy your LV grey market?

It is the current market. I do not see it changing any time soon except used prices may soften a little bit more. But not enough to help ease the situation at ADs.
