Napa

When the wife turns 39, you drive 2 hours for some Napa wine.

The weekend getaway - wine country edition. Cakebread, St. Supery, Raymond.

Love Napa and hope to go back someday. Curious, where did you stay? The pool and surrounding grounds look very nice.

Happy birthday to Mrs. JParm! Looked like an amazing trip. If there is wine involved it's hard NOT to have a good time.

Great pics and the AP looks great!

Looks like a great time OP, Happy birthday to the wife, such a beautiful family!
You should come down to the Central Coast next time. We are soon to be Napa #2 with an ever-increasing group of major award-winning wineries but with no pretentious winery staff, long lines for tastings, long wait times to get in or bumper to bumper traffic on the roads.
Here, you can walk right in, taste wine, enjoy a delicious pairing, most are kid and pet friendly and now, we have a pretty large craft beer and spirits industry popping up as well. We also have one of the largest vacation rental home populations in California.
Last time I went to Napa, I couldnt help but notice how bad it had gotten. The traffic on the roads was horrible, hotels were crazy over priced and hard to come by a room, you couldnt walk into a single winery without an appointment to taste or you had to wait 2-4 hours for an opening and it felt like the staff was always miserable and hated their job having to deal with people all day, everyday.
Maybe I was just there on a really busy weekend but it sure didnt feel like the Napa of yesteryear that I remember.

Nice. Happy Birthday to the Mrs.

I miss taking my motorcycle down all those Wine Country backroads. I used to be out on them at least once a week.

Love the Seamaster.

Thanks Crew! We usually stay at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa. Great (free) happy hour, s'mores, club lounge, bikes - everything you could as for.

We live in Monterey so we hit up the Carmel wineries fairly often. We're actually going to Paso in May for a Pickleball tournament and plan to hit up a couple wineries there as well.

Check out the Calaveras County area too, a small town called Murphy's has a bunch of wineries a lot of tasting rooms on main street, and a ton of goldrush history.

We'll be following suit. Wife turns 40 so we're headed up next week when work calms.
Currently finalizing the plan but Turnbull will be on the list.

Thanks! It's the Marriott Napa.

Our boys are great with travel! We did a kid-friendly tasting at Cakebread with other families, where they'll give you a tour of the grounds and let the kids play. Then we had the private tasting with a dedicated wine employee and they sat through that very well - they were interested in the map.

Raymond vineyards was awesome as well due to the trail through the vineyards and their goats.
