You don’t need any Rolex. You want one.

I beg to differ. You want several Rolexes, but you need your one Rolex in a collection, badly. And maybe one Rolex is all you need, on top of other brands.

It’s a great looking watch, but how often would I wear it vs the black sub. I would
Think it’s 80/20 wrist wear. Is that worth it?

Said in another way, what watch is going to beat the black sun when I wake up in the morning outside of just a change of pace?
100%! Very well said. The BLNR was much more dressy and there were many times it didn’t feel right on, so it is a tough one watch to have and an expensive addition. I actually look at colorful OPs differently now. I used to think of them as a more entry level watch to get into Rolex. But at 6k, if you really want a color change up, get an OP to go with the black sub. At the end of the day, most often than not, whatever I wear and what ever social function I attend, the black sub does it all.

I had 4 Rolexes, and 3 others (Tag, Tudor, Breitling)
My sons are wearing the Tag and Tudor, and I am going thru the how many is enough and do I want to expand the brands I own and wear.
Step 1 was to trade my DJ 41 (I wasn't wearing) for a Panerai Luminor (which I am really enjoying) leaving me a Sub C, a SubC with date, and a BLNR for Rolexes.
I could see trading or selling a Sub, but haven't made that decision yet.
Then the decision will be how many watches to actually keep long term.
I don't really wear 5 on a rotation, lately the Panerai and the Sub date get most of the wear.

Some people need a watch. No one needs a Rolex.

Recently traded 2 steel Daytonas and a white gold Daytona for the platinum ice blue with baguettes. I'm not looking to flip watches and collecting them for a lifetime. So to me, having less pieces but 1 or 2 high quality ones is the way to go. Just my opinion.
