Vilnius Lithuania

After 7 years together living in Tenerife I've finally managed to get to her home town of Vilnius

Been beautiful weather during the day but quite cold of a night
However it's really rather wonderful extremely friendly and appears very safe.

Well recommended if you're out this way.

Nice! My father’s maternal grandparents were from Lithuania, but I do not know what city they came from.

Spent NYE on separate occasions in Riga & Tallinn. Vilnius will be next as the Baltics are wonderful. Cheers.

It actually is quite lovely. I have serious issues trying to post pictures. They are forever being rejected as too big or worse the wrong size..

Great pictures - and now that you’ve got TapaTalk you won’t be bothered any longer in posting pics in the future.

Not sure where you are but we live on an overall reasonably inexpensive island. Food ranges to dirt cheap to hugely expensive
But it's cheaper here than say America (or at least the three west coast places we went to recently) which we found to my shock very expensive
In San Diego in the trendy busy area in an average bar a burger and two small craft beers was 30 us
Here in the like for like two burgers three large craft beers was 32 euro.
Of course you can find more expensive places and less expensive but overall it's a reasonable comparison
Plus this is a far nicer place than the west coast IMHO (although I did like San Diego)
Assuming you like old buildings etc

There are quite a lot of Americans here both young and old btw

Leg is sore but final treatment today which is good

Hi Richard,
We're in Somerset, but I know Tenerife reasonably well. We took off from the old, Los Rodeos? airport two days before the unfortunate incident in '77.
Love the Island, Los Christianos was really beautiful back then.

Glad you're getting looked after.

Ah in that case it's not as cheap as 'Spoons but cheaper than most compatible eateries

Stopped at a cafe in old town for coffee and cake..13 euro

Later:
We were in a restaurant just outside Vilnius today visiting my partners mother total bill for 1 large starter to share, 3 red wines, 3 mains and two pints of local ditchwater was 52 euro

I had the ribs, partner had cepalinia (zeppelins : due to their shape) which is pork minced meat in potato. She could only manage one tbf. They like hearty heavy food here tbf..

The last picture is mother's house other side of the lakeside restaurant
