Permanent Oyster link removal experience?

I finally joined the Rolex club. My father gifted me his 17000 Oysterquartz Datejust. I love the quirkiness of the case and bracelet design, but the bracelet is too big for my wee wrist. After the micro adjustment was taken all the way in and the removable links were removed, it’s still too big.

I heard that a permanent link can be removed.

Can anyone here share their experience with permanent link removal? Bonus if it was in the 17000.

Can a standard removable link be re-added (if/when I pass it to my son, etc)? Thanks for your consideration. I appreciate it.

There are videos on YouTube but I honestly don’t think it is something the average person can do without the technical tools needed.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Took mine to RSC (pre-covid) and paid ~ $50 for them to remove a perm link-- was out in less than 1 hour

Just had this done on a 93150 for my 5513. Rolliworks does a great job and in my case they didn't have to destroy the link. Give them a call - they will sort you out. Next thought is who are these Rolliworks people and can I trust some random guy online. Give them a google or search hear. They are well known for their excellent work.
