DEEPSEA engineering question
Anyone know why the DEEPSEA bezel was designed to operate on ball bearings and springs which allows the vertical rocking movement.

I believe because the depth pressures compress and expand and having it on a traditional flat click bezel setup would likely not allow for the curved crystal to fit snug.

Is the Sub bezel mechanism different to the SD line?

All the ceramic bezels' than are meant to rotate all work on the same principle ball bearing and spring loaded click stop.

It's a more luxurious feel. The vertical play is also probably there to facilitate some movement/clearance in order to be able to flush it out when rinsing the watch and remove sand, mud or any other type of grit which may otherwise accumulate and jam up the works
