Code 11.59 relation to the Remaster01

As I just picked up my first Code the other day, I was curious about previous AP lines that are no longer part of their catalog. In this context I came across an older article by SJX which included this pic of the Remaster 01 alongside a Code chrono. While SJX didn’t say that the Code necessarily got its design inspiration from the original Master, I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between the pieces here. Of course there are notable differences (updates?), but it’s nice to think that the Code line has such ties.
If any of the AP experts here have any facts or opinions about this or perhaps other coming re-releases, I’m very interested to learn more. Thanks.

Your wrist shots definitely did their part to influence the purchase! :)

I recently purchased a Code as well and agree with your observations. At the least, the designers at AP are taking cues from some of their historic pieces. Another is the 1957 Perpetual Calendar. I see similarities in the lug design as well as the use of the open numerals (9's and 6's most obvious.)

The numerals are just like some of their vintage watches

Nice observation about the lugs, I’d never seen AP pieces like this before. I appreciate the added insight. It really makes you appreciate the Code line on a different level, IMHO.

+1 here. At least this is what they said during the museum tour on which watches elements drew from for the code. as opposed to re-master which is basically drawn from a single vintage watch to re-create.

The hands as well...I don't really understand why these details and the past inspirations for them weren't highlighted during the launch.

Agree, I think that would have shed a much brighter light on this release & tamped down the push-back against it

Seems like it might not have been produced serially, the caliber is 9/10 RS https://www.stetzcowatches.com/produ...9-10-rs-w-box/

Re-master release in 2020 to celebrate museum opening with limited 500 pcs., use basic movement from code but different in reference number. The design come from vintage AP but modified size and change from manual winding to self winding.

Case are different and no relate.

Sapphire glass are dome shape.

Both are fly back Chrono

I have Remaster and Code QP both are great on wrist
