Rolex GMT 1675 - Fuchsia
Researching these watches I have read that the "Fuchsia" bezel only occurs in the 1.8m serial numbers. I have seen some in the 1.3m, 1.6m, 1.7m and even the 2.3m. All of them are the Mark 1 Long E dial.
Are these bezel swaps? is it true the 1.8m serial range is the authentic fuchsia? How can you know if you are purchasing and original "fuchsia" thank you in advance. |

As is sometimes the case, don't believe everything you read on the internet. Fuchsias were commonly found on the later 1960s GMTs. Mostly from around 1967 to 1970 - notably on the Mark I dial era. As far as fuchsias only being found on GMTs with the 1.8 serial numbers, this is pure nonsense. With that being said, there is no exact time frame for these, but most will concur that they were found on the late 1960s GMTs. Based on my experience, during the past 20 years, I've found them on many GMT Mark Is from the late 1960s. jP

how can you be assured there was no bezel swap? at the end of the day if its an authentic Rolex bezel does it matter? I am sure there is more value in an all original piece. |

I’ve seen them on late gilt in through two dial types in matte, mk0 and mk1 long e. Additionally there’s two types of fuchsia insert; small gilt triangle and taller triangle.
In short the 1.8 thing is wrong. While I own one I find them as the least appealing insert type and most over hyped. |

OP,
As mentioned above, I wouldn't link it to a serial of 1.3 mill but in a broader range. Late 60's is generally acceptable. Regarding your 'authentic Rolex' question, I think it can be misunderstood here. If you mean 'period correct', yes it does matter, $$ wise atleast and more interest by collectors. Whether the insert is swapped in its past is anyone's guess, its nearly impossible to tell unless its a service insert or a later font etc. |

The association of the "Fuchsia" bezel with a specific serial number range, such as 1.8 million, is not always definitive, and exceptions exist. Determining the authenticity of a "fuchsia" bezel is best done by consulting experts or reputable vintage Rolex dealers. Thoroughly examine the watch's condition, ask for its provenance, and seek opinions from trusted watch communities or forums to make an informed purchase decision.
