Daytona pusher screwed off

Hi,does anybody have an idea how my Daytona pusher has unscrewed completely? When I screw in it just keeps turning as if the threads gone and when I unscrew from the case the screw comes right off.Hopefully not a hard fix thanks for any help/advice.

It happens, not enough Loctite on the screw from the factory. You can only properly screw it on from the inside. If nothing is damaged (looks fine in the pic) then it should be fixed by RSC or AD watchmaker on site.

Good looking Zenith. Send it to me to fix, but I guarantee 100% it will get lost in the return shipping. I'll see to that. Good luck on your repair, those are great watches.

Are you saying there is not a mechanical stop to prevent this? Seems like if Loctite is the only stop, eventually all these parts will screw full off. How tough and permanent is Loctite?

Depending on series, very tough and very permanent.

Permanent enough to keep your crown screwed to the stem for a service interval, bracelet screws from falling apart, tube attached to a case.

You're overthinking it.

That’s incrediblenever would of thought it was glued on.I was thinking I’d lost some sort of thread or spring.I hope they don’t insist on a full service to fix it.
Cheers

Will require a watchmaker and opening of the case. RSC or an independent should be able to take care of this without a full servicing.

If you haven’t serviced the watch in the past 10 years it might be a good opportunity to get it all done.

Be sure to save the pusher that came off. They should be able to reuse the part

Basically your watch is around 30 years old so I’m not that surprised.
Luckily you didn’t lose the 18k pusher parts as that would have sucked bad.
Good looking Zenith Daytona all the same!

Thanks. The pusher screws on and off but it won’t depress the mechanism to start the chronograph. It just keeps turning where it usually tightens up to close off.

It needs to go in, it has to be fixed from inside
Call your local Rolex AD and see if they do service, if not some members here can give you some great suggestions as to watchmakers you can send it to.
