Think I have a high potential for the call for a 116506

The thread title details my status. It is likely with baguettes. I have come to like the 126506 (even though it isn't at ADs yet) I suppose you'd all tell me I'm nuts if I turn it down...? (I've been on this ADs list for about 3 years.) I'll likely buy it if offered - but please opine, nonetheless.

Nice watch, baguettes not for me. For that money I’d get exactly what I want.

It's a great watch although the weight ultimately became weighty for me; if you like weighty watches you'll love it. Congratulations!!! Enjoy your new watch!!!

I would buy it if an AD offered it. I had the ‘regular’ ice blue dail.

I actually like "heavy"; I'm just vacillating on the "no brown sub dial" deal...

Still am not sure if it is me yet...but I'm among the top players for it.

I'm not sure there is a big downside. I just like the brown sub dials that come with either the normal indices or baguettes on the 126. I used to covet this watch with the lack of brown sub dials; now I am torn...

To me, a Daytona is a tool watch. It’s a chronograph, meant for timing car races, or any kind of race. Putting diamonds on it makes it purely a status symbol, something to show off. One could argue any Rolex is such, but diamonds belong on dress watches, not tool watches.I’m a girl, and I wouldn’t wear that. I do like the blue dial, brown sub dial one, without the diamonds, but it’s platinum, which also is an odd choice for a tool watch. But, in general, I’d rather have a Speedy Pro, and I have had several over the years. I should have kept that FOIS….

If you are getting the baguette dial 506, get the 11x generation. The 12x 506 with its brown sub dial is less distinct than the normal 506 with only the diamond hour markers differentiating the two. If you are already spending that much, get something that is unique on its own.

I’d jump on a 116506 baguette in a heartbeat. I would pass on the standard 116506 dial for either of the new 126506s though.

On the 126 version I don’t feel the baguettes are a “must have” like they are on the 116506 version, imo.

I don’t subscribe to rules such as no diamonds on an alleged “tool watch.” Enough rules already in life, don’t need to apply them to a hobby and watch wearing.

I’m actually a big fan of contrast so maybe that’s why I like the baguettes on the Daytona so much.

Either way, wear whatever puts a smile on your face.
