6265 mark2 ??
Hello everyone,
I recently came across a 6266 mark2. I never knew there was one. Was there several marks¿? Was this an aftermarket or a later production bezel? Thank you, Below pic |

Gotta ask. As a prolific poster of watches and parts, are you still shopping, buying or just curious?

haha, sure John.
I already purchased a 6265 with an almost mint dial (one lume plot missing, but overall like new, clean!) but with the wrong chrono hand and crystal. On my search for these two parts I saw this bezel with smaller numerals and marks, called mark2. Hence this thread. Trying to learn a bit more about Daytonas. |

Yes there are several bezel versions for most vintage Rolex watches.
Identify which Mark version belongs with your watch production year. Google will show you examples if you look for 6265 bezels. The one you have looks closer to a Mark 1 but I’m not claiming it to be 100% genuine as more checks should be done.

Thank you. You think is a mark1?
I think the mark1 has the opposite: bigger numerals. I've seen this one claiming it to be more of a mk2 ok several sales and websites. If it's a mk2 it's clearly for later 6265. Was there a mk3 ??? |

There are several known versions of authentic 6263/6265 bezels.
I don’t claim to know all of them but the one you shared looks closer to a Mark 1 than a Mark 2 to me. There are others here and on the VRF site that know these bezels inside and out. But they may want to see more macro photos before giving a definitive answer.

Really interested as well. Is there any correlation from the production years to the different bezels? Like mk2 from 19xx or something like that?
Which steel bezel should a 6265 big red from 1981 have? |
