Would you rather buy
Let’s pretend it’s two 1680s with the same dial and hands. The lugs have been laser trimmed. The seller can either:
1.) sell it as is (lazer’d lugs) 2.) beef up the lugs so it looks like factory and just charge for the extra cost of that work. someone like rolliworks etc would do it. Let’s pretend money is no object Basically I’m trying to find out if - once a watch has been lazer’d or overly polished - you’d rather buy it as is or have the case beefed up of so it looks like factory |

Rather than buying either, I would like to know what "laser trimmed" and "lazer’d lugs" mean.

I wouldn't buy a 250 Lusso with any filler/respray, but I would with paint fade and cracking - so there's your slightly obtuse angle from me on a watch too... over-restored cars and watches not for me.
Incidentally, the vintage/classic car market is about 10-15 yrs ahead of watch mkt. Highly restored cars commanded much more 10-15 yrs ago...now honest unrestored are worth more ...! I.m.h.o 'Lasers' on watches are for Wilma and Buck Rogers in the 21st Century ..

It’s a good job we are only pretending because none of the options sound that hot

Why would anyone ever TRIM lugs with a laser? What does that even mean?

If the chamfers have been recut badly or polished down to nothing you would probably have better luck selling the watch if you had the case detailed. Looks like there are dealers who are having their watches welded and chamfers recut, but then scratching then up to fool buyers into thinking they haven't been polished. So must pay to do that...
