One full circle : back to the BLRO

Had a whirlwind romance with various gmts over the past 8 months and am back with the original. All purchases were made through greys, no waiting games were played. Here's the story

I'm Dec last year, started my gmt collection with a blro on jubilee. One day later, yes you read it right, one day later my grey showed me a meteorite gmt and I was smitten by it. Made the trade

1 week later, I put a huge ding in the casing stupidly using my wrist to block a glass door from closing on me. At that point, I started to fall out of love with the watch. Every time I looked down, I saw the ding.

After 4 months of constantly wearing it, was offered a price to let it go at almost what I paid for it (grey price for this watch went up about 10%) in this time frame

Sold the watch, still had the gmt itch and bought a blnr on jubilee. It's a nice watch, but a very safe watch I might add. I wear it as a daily in an office environment, but somehow it lacked the special pop to it.

Fast forward to yesterday, made the trade back up to the blro on jubilee, where it all began. I think I'm contented now, and found a comfortable daily watch which has just the right amount of pop. Well, maybe until the prices of the gmt meteorite start to fall again...

Personally, you should have had the case on the meteorite repaired and kept it. But hey, thats just me. Either way, the pepsi is a beautiful watch. I have the 116710LN bought new in 2009 and have not tired of it yet.

Congrats on the BLRO again; watch collecting is a journey not a destination

Couldn't find anyone in my country that could repair the case using the laser welding method. The ding was pretty deep near the corners and even rsc did not want to accept the job though I offered to pay for it.

It definitely is a nice watch, but a ss on jubilee feels just so comfortable for daily wear. The meteorite is still on my radar and if grey prices do come off significantly, maybe I'll add it back to the collection

Was the weight of the pm BLRO an issue now that you have had time to think about the journey?

The Pepsi is a great choice! Personally, I don’t get the hype of the meteorite dial, on any Rolex reference. Too gimmicky, for my taste.

Welcome back to the BLRO club, I wear mine a lot more than the others out of the weekly rotation.

For daily wear it definitely isn't as comfortable as the blro on jubilee. Probably is due to a combination of both the material as well as the bracelet type.

It definitely is a stunning watch but it being pm also makes me subconsciously take too much caution with it lest I make another ding on it.

That being said if a chance to acquire another meteorite at a reasonable price comes up, I will probably be looking to add to the collection, instead of it replacing the blro on jubilee for daily wear. Then it will be used as a special occasion watch

A good place to start and a good place to finish. The SS BLRO on Jubilee is the one I wear the most.

That new BLRO that you bought has much vivid and better colors compared to the original you bought. I reckon the first one you had is probably one of those dull series from 2019.

I totally get it.

A Pepsi on jubilee is near perfect.

Even though its primarily going to be an office daily, (have a 116508 as a weekend watch), wearing the Pepsi on a Saturday out felt amazing! It is so funny how a slight splash of red on the bezel changes the whole wearing experience
