Thoughts on this 16710 GMT Coke

Thinking about pulling trigger on this piece.
What are your thoughts?? Condition, band stretch? Overall condition and value? It does come with box and papers.

They are asking 12k.

Thank you so much in advance
Steve

For me it is too much banged up and the condition of the bracelet is rather poor.
Not a rare watch so I would wait for a nicer example.

It's main merit is the pre 99 dial and handset (a v nice shade).

Originality top trumps (just), condition for me, and of course the mid-case and bracelet have lived a bit of a life, but not uber-bad imho.

Punched adds about 20% on a trit' 16710, but it's condition would reduce it by at least that over a minty loose goose watch imho.

$12k/£10k seems about $1900/£1500 toppy to my mind ... But I'm a bit of a bandit ;-)

95% of the 16710s that came on a European D link 62510h would have the often cited 'correct' 50 (and pricier secondhand ) end links btw, many are on 'incorrect' 55.'s

My research though suggests less than 15% of 1990s 16710 sales originally were on Jubillee (as the bracelet was 10% more expensive than 78360, and Jubillee's back then were not in vogue on professional pieces).

So worth checking paperwork as sometime the bracelet it came on eg 62510h, or most commonly 78360 (or extremely rare 93150 mainly in US), is written/printed on the paperwork or green tag.

If you want a pretty cheap daily plugger, that's original, probably be fine.....but if you're after something sharper as Joli160 says plenty about.

Ps I think you're 100% right to focus on tritium models though personally..... I predict in 20-25 yrs they will be twice the price of a post 2000 16710 !

This would not be a daily wear for me. I own all modern Rolex pieces. This is more for collectible, and would wear once in a blue moon. Like a vintage car

I am guessing this is a service dial. If it is, I'll pass on this watch.

What do you mean by service dial? They replaced the dial during service? Pardon my ignorance. Legit question

My observations are:

Where are the box and papers photos?

The dial appears to be original. I also observed that the seller has some very manly fingers, wrists and arms.

Too bad sellers can't take decent photos without all the extraneous or irrelevant body parts. Focus on the watch and crop the photos accordingly. I doubt anyone really cares to see all those extras unrelated to the watch.

Only had a few secs to look this over again (so have not checked the nuances of dial spacings etc so go easy on me if I've misspoken)...... but the case looks tall/high and the model tag printing is blurry, so can't read the 4th digit 167*0......Question - not a chance it's actually a rarer Loren 16760 is there springer, ttg, et al ?

Haha I had a second look at the pics thanks to springers observations about the fingers, wrists and arms
