Any concerns simply because buyer is new member?

Maybe kind of a silly question but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I've had a couple inquiries for my Hulk recently, one from someone who joined the day they pm'd and another one who joined a couple weeks ago. Will, hopefully, be a face-to-face sale. The second fellow I mentioned seems serious and I'm not seeing any real red flags other than the obvious lack of feedback on TRF.

Everyone starts somewhere. If pure meeting make sure it’s secure. Prior to all of that how about a video call to exchange & confirm I.d.

It does. I would find out more. It is true everyone starts some where and this maybe the case. But unless you can show me that you are a beginner, age etc, I would not. Most of the scamsters and robbers play on human nature, greed. There are too many avenues to sell a desirable watch to take any chances that you do not have to take.

Most scammers are either very new members or people using hacked accounts (especially old accounts that have been dormant until very recently). Don't deal with anyone who signs up and PMs you on the same day.

I’d be Leary Kevin.

I’m assuming you do not have your watch listed for sale and that these are unsolicited inquiries??

Thanks very much for the feedback, I appreciate it.

Haven't heard back from the fellow who pm'd the day he joined TRF, and my initial vibes on the other prospective buyer (pm'd about 3 weeks after joining) are actually pretty positive but, yeah, they're just initial vibes. For now I'm remaining optimistic, but wary. (I indeed have the watch for sale here on TRF, Brian.)

Cheers

You've been reading the Kevin O'Leary thread too much, Brian.

I’ve sold to guys who signed up only to be able to send me a PM about my for-sale ad. Do your diligence on the sale side and limit your exposure as best you can.

We all have to start somewhere. If you're planning a face-to-face meeting, ensure it's in a safe location. But before that, how about having a video call to verify and confirm identities?

Seems like a lot more risk for them. Let them wire you money and you can sit on it for a few days. Once satisfied you can ship the watch. Ask for ID and talk to them on video chat. If the ID matches the bank account and it clears your account, I think you’re pretty good.
