Who knows if it's the greatest. Depends on the metric. But it certainly created it's own history, multiple industries that survive by creating homages and copies, etc. Imagine a watch that you first saw as a child in National Geographic and 50 years later it's still available. Somewhat changed but still recognizable as the same watch. That's pretty amazing. It's up there with the 911, the Eames chair and other classic and timeless designs.
