I know Comex Subs were expensive but
I last saw a Comex Sub "in the flesh" in Bond Street, London seven years ago. The shop wanted £15,000 for it. I thought that was overpriced.
Just look at this. £80,000 or $135,000+ for a 5514. Unbelievable. http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Vintage...px?Ref=Froogle

You can't argue with the fact that collectors seem to go crazy for watches owned by the Comex employees.
They were proper tool watches, I guess. Pipe maintenance at 50m or so.

I posted a link up to an ex RN diver's website a few weeks back, he worked for COMEX after his RN service. He had a whole bunch of Milsubs and Comex subs, guess his pension is taken care of judging by those prices.

I believe this is the very same site, founded by a Comex diver who collects diving Rolex. He has Royal Navy dive training and experience, and an extensive work history as a commercial diver also. He relates stories of Comex SD's and Milsubs being so cheap they almost couldn't be given away!!!
