Love it. Actually reverts to a time when I truely enjoyed the watch. I’m a one watch guy now the rest are dust.

One & Done? - This is my Rolex.

I traded up and into a new unworn watch with a grey dealer and have worn it daily for 2.5 yrs and counting, it's all the watch I'll ever need (for now).

This is my Rolex. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

If you have just one Rolex, show us all what you picked!

That’s a great one watch rotation pick!

A watch forum member wrote this a while ago and save it as it is a great justification for a one and only watch rotation:

Love your philosophy, brother. I've had many watches come and go but there's only one that I would never consider parting with. Nothing fancy or rare or expensive. My very first automatic watch is an old Hamilton that my mom gave me as a gift that she picked up used for maybe a hundred bucks or so, which for her at the time was a significant purchase. Mom is no longer with us, and it is my most prized possession, not just my favorite watch. I wouldn't trade it for every Rolex in the catalog.

Great watch. I was of the same school of thought when I owned my dream watch, YG Daytona. It had to go for service and was projected to be gone for 16 plus weeks. I remembered what some of my colleagues from work, who had a military background told me. "Two is one and one is none". No truer words have been spoken to me in a watch application. I promptly purchased a SS Submariner, from the case mind you, and have applied this rule to all aspects of my life.

Being consistent with one watch is a great strategy. Wish I could get there.

What will your small three watch collection be? The explorer is a great part of a trio for sure. Lovely watch.

A GMT offers essentially all of the watch functions that you will need unless you want to dive deeper than 300 feet wiearimg a watch.

That said, watch collecting can allow you to make up any justification that you can imagine to make you feel better about buying more watches than you could ever need!

If you follow the old rules, a simple dress watch could be an add, but there are no more rules and if you aren’t attending formal settings, you will never miss it.

My son bought me this beautiful Submariner for my Seventy Seventh Birthday this month. He repeated my act of gifting him a Rolex Sub about ten years ago. I've owned several Rolex watches in the past but sold them off when I gave up collecting. I always regrated not keeping at least one. This one I will keep forever. (my watch but not my photo).

I wouldn't want something quite so blingy as my one and only.
I could probably be a one watch guy with my explorer, but I really utilize my beater watches.

GMT is a great choice, such a useful complication if one travels or deals with others in a different timezone.

I was one and done for 10 years. I think it’s absolutely doable to stay at one and be happy. However, I think staying at 2 is nearly impossible.
