FS: Vintage 1973 Rolex Datejust Ref. 1601 "No Lume" Dial SS/WG with Original Papers
Offered here is a great example of the legendary Rolex Datejust, reference 1601. The Datejust is a timeless classic that embodies versatility, style, and quality. This watch features a rare "no lume" dial which features a more ornate black and white gold marker and hand set, all set upon a silver "pie pan" stepped dial. This dial configuration is a scarce and unique feature on a watch that is in excellent condition and comes with its original warranty papers.
Take a look at our detailed photos and description below: Case: 36mm stainless steel case in excellent vintage condition as pictured. The polished case sides are bright and the brushed lugs are thick and crisp with only minimal surface wear. The crown screws down securely. Serial and reference numbers are both visible. The original 3.22 million serial number dates to 1973, matching the date on the papers. Bezel: Original white gold fluted bezel with sharp, deep flutes in excellent condition as pictured. Dial/Hands: Original "pie pan" stepped silver "no lume" dial with raised white gold markers featuring slim black inserts and original white gold hands with black inserts. The dial and hands are in fantastic condition. The date wheel is also original with open 6's and 9's. Caseback: Original caseback in excellent condition and screws down securely. Crystal: Acrylic crystal in excellent condition. There are no deep scratches, chips, or cracks in the crystal. Movement: Rolex caliber 1575 automatic movement with hacking. The movement is in excellent condition and keeping great time, although its service history is unknown. All functions work as they should. Bracelet/Strap: Original Rolex folded link Jubilee 6251H bracelet and 55 end links. The bracelet shows almost no stretch and has an extremely crisp coronet on the buckle. Box/Papers/Accessories: The original warranty papers dated November 1973 are included as pictured. Price is $4,200 USD shipped insured FedEx overnight CONUS via wire transfer. US sales are preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face-to-face in the New Hampshire area is also welcome. I have many references available and have been active on this and other forums for many years buying and selling. Please feel free to ask any questions. I am mostly not interested in trades. Thanks for looking! |
