Help identify this Seamaster

I inherited this Seamaster recently and am wondering if anyone can shed light on its history, age, value, etc.

Cool watch, I'm a huge fan of vintage Omega watches and own one as well. For this particular watch though I don't have any details or know anything about it but hope someone here can provide some insight soon.

Cool Omega. Details about its age, lineage, etc. can be had by recording a few numbers from inside the case. Getting inside that case is a bit tricky because I think it's a "front-loader", meaning the back of the case doesn't come off in order to access the movement, and instead everything comes out from the front. If you have a local watchmaker whose skills you trust then he/she could disassemble the watch and you could get the Reference Number from the inside of the back of the case, and you could get the Caliber Number and Serial Number from the movement. These numbers together will be key to learning about the watches age, origin, etc. In fact, you could send those numbers to Omega and request an Extract From The Archives for Omega's official info.

I know absolutely nothing about these honestly, however this looks very similar to my fathers Seamaster he received as a graduation gift in 1963. My guess (absolute guess) would be just after that. I would say mid 1960s.

It looks like it is from the early Sixties. The small Hippocampus medallion, which this is came out in 1959.
As mentioned before, there should be a 4 digit reference number on the inside of the back. Some times followed by a dash and 2 digits, that indicated the year made.

It looks like a pop off back to me, but not 100% sure.

You can search ebay for results and see what they sale for. There are a lot of dial variations, and very few are worth extra. So just look for Seamasters from the early 60's with the same case.
It is also why it is difficult to tell the age from the dial.
