Modern band for Tudor 1969 sub
So it looks like getting a bracelet of the right time looks damn near impossible since all the ones I saw are $1500 and they need to get repaired most of the ones I saw.
If I decided to go with a modern band which Tudor or Rolex band would you all recommend for my 69 Tudor sub 7016? How much should I budget? I’ve been wearing nato band and I really enjoy wearing this watch. I got to tell myself to swap out on weekends. Thanks - Sid |

93150, if you want the flip lock. I think maybe $1200-ish from an AD. A proper period-correct Swiss rivet bracelet will most likely end up being in the $2500 range in good condition. A US rivet bracelet would be potentially $1500.

so i wonder in this case should i get a tudor band since we all know the band isn't going to be the correct period? the old band that i have is missing screws and honestly i don't trust it to carry such a time piece. I also don't see me ever selling the watch or my children selling their great grandfather's watch so resale value is nice but it isn't all that to me either. |

Some watches were sold with US-made Rolex bracelets, which would be marked C&I on the clasp and have no numbers on the end-links. They are not as desirable, and they don't fit as well, so with patience you can find one in good condition for about $1500, or you can find a stretched out one for less money and have it restored. Of course, at any given time, most of the ones you see for sale will have much higher asking prices, and they are just sitting there.
The Swiss rivet bracelet for your watch will say Swiss on the clasp blade, and will be marked 7206 on the back of the last full link of the bracelet. The end-links are captive, and come with various numbers, e.g. 80, 58, 75, etc. It would be hard to find a good one for less then $2500, as I mentioned. Again, you might also find one that is stretched out for less money and have it restored. You mention that you are having your existing band repaired. I know you had another thread, but I don't recall the details of your existing bracelet. If it is a legit bracelet and repaired properly, I don't see any problem using it. But anyway, now you know your options. It's really a matter of personal preference.

I think I'd be happy (I am, on one of my 9411s) with a brand new 78500 from Tudor/Rolex for ~$1000 for the 'security' and comfort. I also have a good condition 7836, folded link, which I picked up for ~$1000 recently, on my other 9411, which was an option on Tudor Subs from the '70s, if I am not wrong? That's getting close to period correct. You'll keep the original anyway, so I'd favour security over period-correctness, for a watch you will wear a lot.
