Rolex Day Date WG 228349RBR Meteorite Diamond Dial/Diamond Bezel- Opinions, please!

Got a call from my AD to try on this timepiece while awaiting a DD Platinum (have been debating between a smooth bezel 228206 w/diagonal dial vs. a new 228236 w/ice blue dial/diamond indices).

Rolex Day-Date President 228349RBR Meteorite Diamond Dial Diamond Bezel 1 copy.jpg

Rolex Day-Date President 228349RBR Meteorite Diamond Dial Diamond Bezel 2 copy.jpg

I'd not considered white gold for the Day Date and generally I am not a fan of meteorite dials, but I think this one is incredible- and believe me- it is stunning in person & tough to capture in a photo. But, I think I just can't pull off all this bling :(

Anyone sporting this one? While I think a WG DD can be a daily-driver- I don't think this one can (at least not for me)!

Anyone with wrist pics of a WG DD meteorite dial w/the fluted bezel? Seems like it might seem kind of dull after seeing all the sparkle from the diamond bezel, or does it work with the meteorite dial? As a daily-driver?

All pix & opinions welcome on this, the 1st thread I've started here!

Stunning watch but the diamond bezel makes it too feminine for me personally. If it was with fluted or smooth I would love to have it.

Have seen this in person. Looks amazing.

Most people who think diamond bezels are feminine or too blingy don't actually interact with gemset day dates that often. It's not really shinier than a fluted bezel when looking at it from arm's distance.

However I don't feel the diamond center-linked bracelet is worth it at like $50,000 by itself.

Indeed it’s a lot of bling, even in WG, was offered one but passed due to it, i just couldnt pull off that look. Amazing looking piece though…

You know what? I think the bezel works with meteorite and baguettes. Another dial or another color metal, and I would not think so. You have to be comfortable wearing it of course. Special watch--may or may not be for you.

I agree, GET the diamond bezel - there are so many black dial steel SUBS around, how boring. So why not enjoy what YOU like vs. people who may not want to spend that much or just can't afford it, so they bash it? Rolex is a high-end, precision TP. Buy what YOU like and wear it proudly for a great life accomplishment. Too blingy?? Who GAF? On a Datejust which is a formal watch anyway, it's the ultimate in luxury TP and the OG Rolex. So wear the SUB all over for everyday wear, and a diamond bezel iced out DJ out to dinner and special events. Waiting on a 126283-RBR MOP dial, Diamond Bezel - Also have a 2020 116613LB "Blusey" with Blue Sunburst dial, One Sport, One Formal

I think it's stunning. If it were offered, and I could afford (I can't, by the way), would take it.

The 206 isn't made anymore so you will be waiting for a very long time. Get the 236, noone is buying now so you should get it easy

Id wait for the 228236 with the glacier blue diamond dial.
My AD knows as soon as he gets once in I will be upgrading my 228238.
If you are sensitive to heavy watches Id get the WG without the diamond bezel.

I don’t think the fluted bezel is dull at all. I don’t care much for the diamond bezel on a man- for a ladies watch it is just fine. Given the choice between the two- I’d take fluted 10/10 times even at the same price

Ten months later, zero response to requested opinions - I'm guessing he didn't get it.

Yes no diamond bezel. It takes away something from the special dial. The fluted bezel frames it beautifully

I agree it would be a winner without the diamond bezel. Diamond bezels are fine but to me they don't go well with meteorite dials.

If I were to go diamond bezel I would do full pave diamond dial. For meteorite dial I prefer a normal bezel.

IMO, as someone said, the diamond bezel diminishes the beauty of the baguettes on this watch.

I own this watch with a fluted bezel and I think it's stunning

The real answer lies within you. And I think you know the answer - you want the 228236-0006

Here’s mine, though with a different meteorite dial.
If I ever reduced to one daily driver this one might be it, but personally, the diamond bezel would be tough for me to carry off every day.

Love it! Love the diamond bezel platona too! I feel they are less blingy in person.
