FS: Excellent Rolex 16660 Sea Dweller Matte Dial Mk1 Transitional full set

Up for sale is a very nice Rolex 16660 Sea Dweller matte mk1 dial circa 1982. A very transitional series with an extremely short run in Rolex's history. That's why there aren't that many of these that pop up for sale much less complete sets in desirable condition. This watch marks 2 transitional periods. One would be the transition from matte tritium markers to the white gold markers and the other would be the transitional depth rating from 2000ft to 4000ft and using a sapphire crystal versus a plastic tropic.

Watch is in overall excellent shape. Case has been lightly polished in the past but all original chamfers are still fully present with a full case. The mk1 dial is in perfect condition along with matching hands with handsome patina. Insert is original and has taken on a nice blued patina with matching patina on the pearl vs the dial and a very sharp bezel. Bracelet is the original 93160 with correct date code. Watch has been serviced by my CW21 and has a replacement sapphire crystal (orginal was chipped so I replaced it but the original is included in the sale) along with a replacement gasket for the crown tube (also original included). The caseback is engraved with the original owner's name and his social security number. Provenance doesn't get better than this....this watch was sourced from the original elderly in TX that couldn't remember his own social security number so he engraved it on the back to remember. It is certainly a cool part of its history I'd retain as it matches the warranty papers....you can always source another caseback if you want.

That includes the watch, outer box, inner box, original handtags, original sapphire crystal and tube gasket from the service, original link from the bracelet (removed for resizing), instructional booklet, and the punched original warranty papers to the same gentleman as the engraving on the back.
