Me and my friends....TRF!

Well, good morning to everyone! Although I had no time to visit AD's during this trip, I just wanted to share with you how TRFers are part of my life...everyday! Ready?

Well, here we go. Getting ready for a long trip, just sitting down at one of the waiting lounges. Watch-related magazine (Tiempo de Relojes), a nice cup of coffee, this time my IWC Aquatimer and good friends: TRF!

My flight has been announced, it looks like plane is here

...they had done a great job with their business class, a lot of room between seats

and off we go. First stop: Mexico City. YIKES! I am sorry to admit that this is one of the most polluted cities in the world; so sad as they have great restaurants, hotels, history. Anyway, approaching Mexico City's Benito Juarez Int'l airport....

and meetings throughout the day.

Now, hopping on to plane 2 which gives me great views of sunrise above the caribbean

...and also the great opportunity to see Panama from the Atlantic

...its lakes that feed the Panama Canal

...and the Pacific side, with the entrance to the Canal @ Panama City

...and made it safely to Panama's Tocumen Int'l. Next stop: Santo Domingo; Dominican Republic. Plane's here and on time!

...and finally in DR

My trip was business related (again ) so no time for AD's on this visit; but there is a MUST stop for me: Arturo Fuente's Cigar!

As my fellow cigar smokers will confirm, Fuente Opus X Cigars are the equivalent to the SS Daytona. They are a great product with VERY limited availability; some people like it, some don't; but you are lucky if you can buy 2 or 3 sticks at any AD; they will NOT sell you a full box unless they have inventory (which is extremely rare. Let's say that I have only seen a full box once in 15 years...up until DR!). At the Fuente store here in Santo Domingo, they have ALL sizes! Retail price for a box: $1,000 us. (Yup, one grand).

Humidor full of Opus X's

with a beautiful smoking lounge and fine wines and spirits (yes, that is an old bank vault!)

I LOVED this sign!!!!

After meetings, lunches and dinners; it is time to go back, so I have to catch a very early flight. Who is there with me? My IWC, iPod Touch and....yes, MY FRIENDS @ TRF!!!

This time we fly an Embraer 190, smaller plane but still comfortable seats.

...right on time

...and just a beautiful day @ DR.....

...and first cup of coffee

with a stop in Panama, where the airport is always busy

and they have AD's, but no Rolex sold here.

with no time to sit @ AD, I have to catch my next flight. Plane is already here and off we go.

and after customs and immigration at Mexico City, final flight so I can be home for a few days.

I am sorry this trip did not include any Rolex at all, just wanted to share with my friends (and on-line family) how important you are to me. Thank you for being there! (err....here?!?)

Thx! With the humidity @ DR, leather straps are a big no-no. IWC missed flying so we went together this time.

I agree with you my friend; it takes its toll. It is exciting to visit different cities, meet people, see places and eat their food; you have to jump from plane to plane, run through airports, miss flights, re-schedule meetings and learn to pack in a carry on.

Well, at least the miles are used on vacations
