Low Country View

I love the laid-back landscape of South Carolina and spent a couple of days there last weekend. Even though Hilton Head has become an overdeveloped golfers paradise, it has some beautiful wild areas. I especially love sitting out on a deck overlooking the lagoons at night and listening to the birds and insects...and something big cutting the surface of the water.

Fantastic pics! Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel like I'm home again (I grew up in Savannah, GA). Thank you!

Thanks for all the kind replies. This coastal area is so peaceful that you can feel your blood pressure drop several points just smelling the seabreeze.

Wonderful Kevin, simply wonderful.

I recognize the view from the restaurant...we ate there last year (and got eaten alive by the mosquitos).

Even though I grew up on the beach in NC, if I were forced to choose between HHI & SE NC, I would have a tough time.

When I leave Mexico, I'm hoping to get back to NC, SC, or GA, and then HHI will be a regular stop, especially is I land in SC or GA.

Thanks for sharing... you just brought my vacation back to me, even though I was there two weeks ago.

Thanks guys again for all the nice replies. I've just gotten back from HHI and each time I go, I am finding new things to appreciate about this area. Especially a little family owned chocolate shop called, Chocolates by the Sea. It was my first stop this year and is fabulous. Who knows? I might even learn to hit a golf ball.
