Assuming the the current owner of the Rolex is 100% legitimate, I seriously doubt this thread will solve the OP’s dilemma.
True; although I’ve been in the OP’s shoes before asking our great forum for advice and while I generally had my mind made up before I posted it’s nice to feel that positive affirmation from others that agree with you. It’s also nice to take stock of dissenting opinions because if you’re pretty resolute in a course of action, and then a whole bunch of like minded watch enthusiasts were to overwhelmingly say “No!!!!!!!!” it would probably give you pause and prompt some reconsideration.

That’s what is so great about our little community; it’s a perfect place to bounce ideas around

No for me, and I own the meteorite. I would keep the PP.

The only way this trade makes any sense is if you have a box full of Pateks and zero Rolex.

5960 is peak micro mechanical engineering and design, displaying 100+years of Patek technical prowess.

I would, 100%. The meteorite GMT ( in my opinion ) is the best ref in the entire catalogue.

I own the meteorite GMT, and I happen to really like the 5960p, but I would not make the trade.

Remember, you’re asking on a Rolex forum. There might be some bias - haha

I think I would make the trade, but wouldn't add any cash. Even swap only if both watches are in equal condition.

The meteorite is more special to me & brings me joy to look at it (even if telling the time is difficult at a quick glance). I like Patek, but I don't particularly like this model. Aesthetically, the Rolex looks better to me. In terms of haute horologie, the PP leaves the GMT in the dust. It depends on what you value in two particularly rare watches: PM/space rock/heft/simplicity in movement, design, servicing versus more complications/higher servicing costs/less socially versatile.

It's weird being the same age as old people.
